Thank you for the beautiful haiku. Happy long night moon.

I want to learn how to keep focused on my goals. The Daily Actions in your last post on New Years resolutions are subject to so many distractions that even if motivation is high, doing them requires some kind of focus on the connection between the daily actions and the long term goal. Hard. Keep hope!

Hi Pam, thanks for stopping by. Sounds like you have some first-hand knowledge about handling performance stress. There are many musical performances around the holidays, so it is a good time to practice inner peace, as well as the music.

We hope some of these resources actually help you relax. They are only as good as we make them. In other words, using them consistently is key. Finding great resources may be easy. Using them every day is what will make the difference. Happy practicing, and Happy Holidays!

Appearing to remain calm amidst chaos and actually BEING calm through it all are often two different things. We tend to bolt the lid on until after the holiday rush and then wonder why we always get sick shortly afterward.

Learning how to keep our internal cool in a healthy way sounds like a lesson for us all, even for veteran musicians who've been through the fire and still gotten standing ovations for keeping it together.

Thanks for all the great resources!

So true. The arguments between fans of rugged individualism and fans of collaboration should get together on the same team. Like good defense and good offense, the combo is unbeatable.

Great incentives here to learn new stuff. I just read on engadget about Tetris playing improving brain efficiency and leading to a thicker cortex. Somebody was doing a study about whether stimulation can change the brain and found structural changes did occur. Now whenever I get caught playing video games, I can say, "It's ok, honey, I'm re-wiring my brain." Thanks for the post.
p.s. Daniel Amen is awesome!
